Hello , my friend recommended me about this website. Actually my father's middle name is missing from my 10th and 12th result and because of that my college asked for an affidavit and even after providing an affidavit my college took my father's name which was in in 10th and 12th result they didn't took the correct name. So now if I will go for govt. Job or for MBA or things so for Gazette will be okay or should I change my father's name according to my result in my aadhar card and pan card. What should I do now? Because rectification in result and college degree will be a very long and hectic procedure.

Dear Client as per your query, changing your father’s name on your aadhar and PAN to make them similar to your 10th and 12th standard mark sheet is probably the best way to go because correcting the academic records will take a lot of time and effort. Even when the name of a parent has been changed, under Section 56 of the Aadhaar (Targeted Delivery of Financial and Other Subsidies, Benefits and Services) Act, 2016 you can update for change if there are valid documents to prove the change. Likewise, section 139A of the Income Tax Act 1961 provides for change in PAN. To add more credibility to the change of name besides a court order and for frequent use of the new name you can apply for a notification in the Gazette under section 3 of the Gazette of India that allows the correction of names or change of names to be published. Most governments and schools admit Gazette notification as a legal affirmation for name change or correction. That way, you’ll match your ID docs with your school records, and then they will easily deal with government job applications, an MBA, or any other legal requirements you may have in the future.Feel free to book an appointment for a detailed discussion.

Dear Client, a Gazette notification is an effective alternative for cases like yours, where changing educational certificates may not be feasible. Through this process, your father’s corrected name will be legally documented, serving as a reference for all future official purposes. Once published, this notification can help update your Aadhar and PAN card without changing your educational certificates immediately. Using the Gazette, you can update your Aadhar and PAN card to match your educational records if needed. This way, you’ll have legal support without undergoing a full certificate rectification. While rectifying Educational Certificates is a lengthy process, it’s worthwhile if you want consistent documentation. Reach out to your school board and college administration to begin the process. Typically, you’ll need to submit an application, affidavit, and proof of the correct name. Each institution has its own procedure, so it’s essential to clarify their requirements. Feel free to book an appointment for a detailed discussion.
