INTRODUCTION In the light of a recent incident that occurred, the Bombay High Court took suo motu cognizance of a disturbing case that involved two kindergarten girls at a school which is in Badlapur, Thane on August 22, 2024. The court expressed serious concerns in the delaying of the lodging of FIR by the Badlapur police as well as in its lapses in conducting the preliminary investigation.
