This is one of the toughest exams in the world. The passing criteria are strict, and the NTA -National Testing Agency) is responsible for conducting the NEET in the country. In 2024, the NTA faced serious allegations for a mass question paper leak. This mass question paper leak has impacted lakhs of students who wanted to pursue their medicals.

Key aspects.

The question paper leakage and scams are the country's biggest problems. The country has faced many allegations related to scams and question paper leaks, and many of those governments have failed to tackle the problem and provide justice to the students.

In 2024, the NTA faced a serious allegation of mass question paper leakage. On July 22, the NTA, consisting of DY Chandrachud (chief justice of India), J. B. Pardiwala, and Manoj Mishra, asked the NTA for details on backup question papers stored at Canara Bank.

On July 18th, The court remarked that the leak of question paper is limited and not mass, and the Supreme Court is in doubt about whether to reexamine or cancel such limited leaks. On July 22nd, the court asked the central government and NTA to furnish details about the use of question paper sets stored at Canara banks. The two sets of question papers were stored in different banks: one is the State Bank of India, and the other is Canara Bank.

The Canara Bank was just a backup in case of leakage in the papers of the State Bank of India. In some centers, the Canara Bank papers are used almost exclusively. The senior advocate appearing for the petitioner argued that there was a systemic failure by NTA and that the leakage is wide spread.

Conclusion

The NTA has completely failed in doing its job. Whether the leakage is limited or widespread, it's still a leakage. It's an injustice to the one who has made his or her efforts and wasted years on Neet to pass the exam. Issues like this will make the people's confidence low, and the trust of the people in the government will come down gradually. Further, the exam should be conducted strictly with all the strict measures. A need for transparency is raised, and severe action should be taken by the court against the accused, as this will not only affect lakhs of students but also their parents and the public at large.
