It is one of the most specialized judicial body in India. It has led the formation of the power to provide for the adjudication or trial.

The disputes and complaint related to the armed forces. It primary deal with the matter of in the service, disputes, promotion, pension- claim and other related issue.

Structure –

a) The tribunal consists of the judicial member who are typically retired judges of the high court.

b) And administration member usually retired high- ranking officers from the armed forces.

c) The tribunal is organized into various benches across different region of India.

d) Judge Advocate General (JAG), who has held the appointment for at least one year, are also entitled to be appointed as the Administrative Member.

Jurisdiction –

a) The Armed Forces Tribunal follows a quasi – judicial process, meaning it is less formal than traditional courts but still adheres to principle of natural justice.

b) It has the authority to summon witnesses, examine evidence, and deliver judgement.

c) The Decision made by the AFT can be appealed to the supreme court of India. However, the appeal is limited to the questions of law, not questions of fact.

Function –

a) As per the Armed Forces Tribunal their procedure rule, 2008 on that the tribunal shall transact their proceeding.

b) In tribunal all proceeding should be in English.

c) Follow the procedure as in the practice in High court of India.

Conclusion –

The Armed Force tribunal is normally deal with the various cases. The matter related like Service matter, pension matter, and other related issue.

So, the Conclusion of the cases is depending an upon a course of the action taken from of the specified case.
